The Vimy Foundation is committed to spreading a greater understanding, appreciation, and awareness of Canada’s role in the First World War and the impact it had on our nation. We do this through our educational programs such as the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize, awareness campaigns such as our First World War Battle series, and through the distribution of learning materials such as our Vimy 100 in the Classroom education modules.
We hope to expand our learning tools for our First World War in Colour project as the program grows and evolves. In the meantime please enjoy some of our free educational resources below. Whether you are looking to learn more about First World War photography, the colourization process or are looking for a way to incorporate these images into your classroom… there is something for everyone.
